FAQ:

Do I need prior experience?

No. Beginners are always welcome — you’ll learn step by step at your own pace.

Do I need to be in shape?

No special fitness level is required; training develops strength, balance, and coordination naturally over time.

What do I wear and bring to class?

Comfortable active wear and socks or indoor martial arts shoes.

Outdoor shoes must be removed before entering the mat.

Please pack a water bottle to stay hydrated.

Is it competitive?

No. Bujinkan training is cooperative, emphasizing timing, awareness, and control over force.

Sente Dōjō’s classes provide a unique personal focus and cooperative path for developing strength, balance, and awareness — grounded in centuries of tradition and guided by modern understanding.

Is it safe?

Our Core Principle is Safety First:  Protect yourself and your partner.

Cooperation: Progress through partnership, not competition.

Presence: Awareness of timing, distance, and energy.

Respect: For tradition, teachers, and fellow students.

Growth: Consistent, mindful practice over time.

Students are encouraged to expand their training through seminars

and opportunities to train in Japan at the Bujinkan Hombu Dōjō.

Whether your goal is fitness, focus, self-defense, or self-discovery;

training at Sente Dōjō offers a lifelong path of learning — one that begins with a single step onto the mat.
